Your perspective on the SEMI Final

Remember the Semi-Final?  You know, the one BEFORE Wembley…  Well here’s four different perspectives on the game.  Take a look and vote for your favourite – are you East Stand, North Stand, South Stand or on the pitch?

From the South Stand: Long but worth the wait (worth fast forwarding to 2 mins)

From the North Stand: In amongst it

From the East Stand: When the heroes re-enter

On the Pitch, On the Pitch, On the Pitch: The Blair Witch bottom dweller

The spirit of an Oxford Fan

“Oh no, not another Oxford Fan with a blog,” I hear you say, “there’s not enough room in the world for another one”

Well, this may be true, and I can’t say that there is anything I am going to add to the online OUFC community that is going to be unique.  However, the video above sums up what I want to reflect in the blog.  The spirit of a typical Oxford United Fan.

That video was taken the day before Oxford United went to Wembley for the BSP Play Off Final.  There were more fans there than there were visiting supporters for many games at the Kassam last season (in some cases you could add away attendances together and STILL get nowhere near).

Oxford fans are special.  I’m biaised because I am one, but there can not be many clubs who have put their fans through such hardship.  After playing in the top flight of English football, Oxford descended to Non-League football.  Other clubs have done this and seen attendances dwindle; apathy to the situation.  Not Oxford.  Attendances remained high, fans continue to follow their club in great numbers and at great expense, often out numbering home fans when Oxford travelled away.

This support was pivotal in Oxford’s success and eventual escape from the BSP.

It is the life of the fan that I will try and capture in this blog, updating it with video footage of the latest fan action, and humbly offer my blogs as thoughts of an Oxford Fan.  COME ON YOU YELLOWS!
